Southpaw Film Review

Dreams Agency recently went to see the action packed “Southpaw”. No spoilers in this review.
From the moment the film starts you are gripped and the 124 minutes will fly by. This epic rollercoaster of a film consists of action, love, compassion and survival and is one of the best films we have seen in a long time. The basic story line is of lightweight boxing champion who has everything and is on top of the world and within minutes his world comes crashing down. Thestory line may sound like lots of other films but this one goes much deeper and the audience is really able to connect to the characters. The casting was very well done and Jake Gyllenhaal is absolutely amazing, most certainly deserving an Oscar award. The rest of the cast were also excellent including Forest Whitaker, Rachel McAdams, 50 Cent and young actress Oona Laurence. The boxing champion then has the task of turning his life around and has to make some serious sacrifices. Billy (Jake G) turns to Tick Willis (Forest W) for help and to get his life back on track.
This compelling film will most certanly pull at your heart strings, have you gasping and glued to the screen for whole duration. As the film is still very new out we shall keep our review quite short as by saying too much we could ruin the experience for you.
