Could YOU avoid looking at a woman’s chest?
Dreams Agency work with the Mail online for a new social experiment

  •   MailOnline challenged four men not to look at a stranger's cleavage
  •   Volunteers wore eye-tracking glasses to monitor where their gaze fell
  •   75% of group failed the task with one glancing down after just a second

Dreams Agency Model Scarlett was booked to take part in a brand new social experiment with the Mail Online to see where men’s eyes go when talking to a gorgeous busty girl. VIDEO AVALABLE AT THE BOTTOM OF POST.

Men may well insist that they keep their eyes firmly fixed upon the face of a glamorous woman when they first meet - but is that really the case?

To find out, MailOnline enlisted the help of male volunteers wearing eye-tracking glasses to analyse exactly where their gaze falls as they are introduced to a voluptuous model wearing a low-cut top.

Before the challenge, the four men were told that they were to avoid glancing at 25-year-old Scarlett Emmanuelle's cleavage - although one of the guys only managed to last a second before looking.

In fact, 75 per cent of the group were unable to maintain eye contact while chatting with the attractive model, according to the glasses which capture the conscious and subconscious movements of the eye.

Volunteer 1: - James Smith, 31, who's engaged to be married, failed miserably.

After failing at the first hurdle, James, inset, did manage to re-focus on the model's eyes

As he approached Scarlett to shake her hand, his eyeline dropped to her chest within one second.

He said: 'I didn't realise I'm a little bit embarrassed by it. I thought I didn't look. I was definitely trying to not to.'

He added that he felt it was 'natural' and 'hormonal' for a straight man to look a woman up and down when meeting her for the first time.

Volunteer 2
Jason Chester, 42,

Jason let his gaze fall to the model's chest after 12 seconds while Francis managed a whole minute before glancing downwards.

Jason said: 'I tried hard not to peek but if I looked it’s probably down to something in the sub-conscious.'

12 seconds in and Jason Chester, another volunteer, let his eyes wander on to the model's chest. The red cross of the eye-tracking glasses finds him out

Volunteer 3

Francis Scott, 22, who is single fell foul of the challenge - although he did engage in face-to-face conversation with Scarlett, although he couldn't maintain it.

How would 22-year-old Francis fare? He managed to chat to Scarlett for a minute before his gaze fell down to her chest...but said it was very hard not to notice her voluptuous figure

Volunteer 4

Tony Ricketts, 40, said his girlfriend would be pleased that he passed the test with flying colours although he admitted that the results had surprised him

Tony kept his line of vision close to Scarlett's eyes with his subconscious eye movements also revealing he didn't move his gaze

He said: 'Just like when a teacher says, "Don’t look out of the window", the entire class will immediately look. Even when we are horrified by something, we often can’t resist the urge to not to look.

'These men knew they were wearing eye-tracking glasses so were probably especially careful not to be seen to be looking at the chest area.

'I suspect if they hadn't been monitored, they would have all looked at her chest area within the first five seconds, especially as her body language and hand gestures draw attention to her chest so obviously, before moving their gaze to the eyes and mouth.'

There are two theories as to why men's eyes subconsciously sneak a peek at a woman's breasts - and sometimes other body parts including her hips - when being introduced for the first time.
